David Leonard began his editing career as an Assistant Editor in the cutting rooms of Martin Scorsese and Thelma Schoonmaker, Robert Altman, Paul Schrader and Tim Burton, learning his craft on the films GOODFELLAS, THE LAST TEMPTATION OF CHRIST, SHORT CUTS and many more.

David then made his transition to Editor and has cut over thirty feature films and television projects, including the Sundance Film Festival Audience Award winning, TWO FAMILY HOUSE, Tribeca Film Festival Audience Award winning, CITY ISLAND and the ABC Network limited series, MADOFF. Working between genres, David edited the influential hip hop feature, BELLY; the family film THE GREAT GILLY HOPKINS; indie cult classic, NADJA; Al Pacino’s personal documentary WILDE SALOME and the SHOWTIME Network series, DEXTER-NEW BLOOD.
